Clyde Leather is a family-run tannery based in Neilston (near Glasgow), founded in 1955 by Walter Bevan Harris.
Now run by his grandson Richard, the company specialises in producing bespoke, high-quality suede and pigmented leathers from bovine split leather. Over the years, Clyde Leather has invested in modern machinery and innovation, making it the only known UK manufacturer of pigmented leathers, while serving both the domestic and International market.

Suede Leathers
We produce high level quality suede from 0.9mm to 3.0mm thickness, tailor-made the to the customer’s requirements.
Pigmented Leathers
These leathers are again sourced from Low Carbon, Sustainable and Traceable British sources. We manufacture the pigmented finishes with fully REACH compliant water based chemicals, so all looking after the environment.
Industrial Leathers
Clyde Leather produces suede leathers for industrial gloving, welders’ aprons and full jackets for high protection.
Established in 1955, we remain Scotland’s only suede tannery - a tradition refined over three generations.
